The Woman and The Candle

During the late afternoon of September 5, 2021, the last day of the Hebrew year 5781, I saw a woman in the Spirit holding a white saucer. There was a small stub of a white candle burning in the center of it. I was a bit perplexed, so I continued to wait on the Lord and pray into this prophetic vision of the woman and the candle as her light was about to go out.

On the eve of the Feast of Trumpets ushering in the new Jewish year 5782, September 6th, I saw the last few flickers of the flame on the candle resting on the saucer. I wondered if it would be lights out!

In the next scene of the prophetic vision, the woman was given a new candle that was burning brightly. When it was handed to her, she seemed so relieved and overcome with joy.

End of vision.

The Hebrew Year 5781

The Hebrew letters and pictures (ancient and modern) for 5781 were Pey which symbolizes mouth, voice, and open. It was a “Double Pey,” so to speak, as it was not only the year of Pey, but the first year in the decade of Pey.

It’s beyond ironic and sad that in a double Pey year, so many mouths had to be covered with masks and voices could not be heard because of a worldwide pestilence.

The Hebrew Year 5782

We’re now entering the Hebrew year of Bet which is the second year in the Pey decade. The Hebrew letters and pictures for Bet (ancient and modern) represent a house, family, and inside.

Let Your Light Shine

Jesus drew His disciples to Him on the Mount of Olives and gave this instruction to them among many others,

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

A candle is symbolic of light, a believer in Jesus Christ, the spirit of a man, the Spirit of God, the Word of God, and the church.

The candle in the vision could have been any color, but it appeared as a bright, white one that represents light, purity, righteousness, and holiness.

Instead of being in a candleholder, the candle was sitting on a saucer. The plate is representative of food, provision, resources and supply, portion and/or serving, a person’s heart, motive or agenda, or giving someone what they deserve.

Lights Out

A diminishing candle or one that is about to burn out represents losing or turning from Jesus Christ, our first love.

To each of the 7 churches mentioned in the first part of the Book of Revelation, there is a message sent by Jesus to the messenger of each one of them. They are commended for their good works or deeds but warned about their shortcomings (except for the churches at Smyrna and Philadelphia) and advised what corrections need to be made post-haste.

There’s a stern warning to the church of Ephesus, “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” (Revelation 2:4) Jesus Christ was no longer their first love.

Bright Lights

Light has many meanings, some of which are: your life, a righteous life or heart, Jesus Christ as He is the light of the world (John 8:12), revelation, God’s word as a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105), fellowship as walking in the light (1 John 1:7), and the true Christian church where the real Jesus Christ is taught and not a counterfeit. The modern-day cults have their own version of Jesus.

Inside Your House & Family

My husband and I enjoy candlelight dinners, especially during the winter evenings since the days are so short. We procured some made from beeswax which is wonderful for those of us who unfortunately have allergic reactions to some candles. These particular candles are slow-burning and give off a lot of light. They come in different shapes and sizes, so I’ve placed them at various spots throughout our house.

As I’ve prayed into the interpretation of this vision, one explanation could be that the woman’s spirit has been renewed, so she can let her light shine inside her house for her family.

“For You will light my lamp. The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.” (Psalm 18:28)

This would combine all three major components of the ancient and modern pictures for Bet which are house, family, and inside.

A Year of Invitations

The Spirit of the Lord is impressing upon me this will be a year to invite not only your family but those who need to come into the family of God to candlelight dinners. If all of us will step out of our comfort zones and follow the leading of The Holy Spirit, many will be drawn to the one and only true light, Jesus Christ. As you testify about what He has done for you and your family, the flame of your candle will greatly expand in length and proximity.

Spiritual Currency

Perhaps you are a person who lives alone with limited means or has a flock of kids and there’s no budget for a candle. God will provide just what you need when you need it. This is part of the joy of walking in faith and victory!

The Parable Of The Lost Coin

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:8-10)

Prophetic Insights For Daily Living

  • How does this prophetic vision speak to you?

  • Can you relate to the woman whose candle was on its last flicker only to be revived by our Lord Jesus and given new opportunities and assignments? If your light is about to go out, what can you do to get a new one?

  • If you are led to purchase some extra candles, to whom would you gift them?

  • Who would you invite to a candlelight dinner inside your home?

  • I would highly encourage you to start a prophetic journal for the Hebrew year 5782 to record the ways in which God will empower you to let your light shine. Mark your calendar for September 26, 2022, the start of the new Jewish year 5783 to review what you’ve written during the previous year. Prepare to be amazed!

  • Don’t allow discouragement to set in. Even if you’re the only light in your family, school, place of employment or neighborhood, you can make a significant difference. Jesus is the light of the world, and He is with you every hour of every day. Many tried unsuccessfully to extinguish His light before His appointed time but were unable to do so.

  • This is an anointed and appointed year to draw closer to God, purify our lives with His help and comfort, and let our light shine ever so brightly! (James 4:8 and 1 Peter 1:15-16)

  • Pray and ask God what He wants to do inside your house and family during 5782.

This verse is for someone out there in blogger-reader land:

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.” (Hebrews 10:35)

I would like to bless you with a little of my free-flowing verse ~~
